"Myself" by Edgar Guest

I have to live with myself, and so,
I want to be fit for myself to know;

I want to be able as days go by,
Always to look myself straight in the eye;

I don't want to stand with the setting sun
And hate myself for the things I've done.

I don't want to keep on a closet shelf
A lot of secrets about myself,

And fool myself as I come and go
Into thinking that nobody else will know

The kind of man I really am;

I don't want to dress myself up in sham.
I want to deserve all men's respect;

But here in this struggle for fame and pelf,
I want to be able to like myself.

I don't want to think as I come and go
That I'm for bluster and bluff and empty show.
I never can hide myself from me,
I see what others may never see,

I know what others may never know,
I never can fool myself -- and so,

Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.

Movie Review: Iron Man 2

Enter two characters on a forest-like stage.
Friend 1: I'm sorry man!
Friend 2:Dudeee .. what are you sorry for??! I am the one who blew up everything...

Ah... the wonders of friendship. In many ways, I find this movie celebrating it. No matter how nutty, narcissistic, or psyched you may be, you can always rely on the magic of your friendship to being light through your days. Even if your days are numbered thanks to palladium in the reactor (that keeps your heart beating) that is also turning out to be poisoning your blood... The things that happen when you are Tony Stark.

So you have saved the world once.. and managed world peace (it looks like) for a while.
What are your new challenges?
1. Tell a certain Miz Potts that she is the CEO of your company and then try to make her come for a romantic holiday to Venice < insane men in this world! Don't they realize its hard running a company! >
2. Save the world (again)... cause your dad wasn't the only one who had the reactor plans < enter whip-lashing villain >
3. Stop your blood poisoning
4. Stop the U.S. military from "trying" to steal your amazing piece of amour
5. Learn to cook an omelette < in about 3 hours>

Whew! It isn't easy after you are done saving the world once is it?

This movie may not have me raring to go for the part-3 , but it sure is good anyway. Watch this for time pass... no ground breaking stuff here.

But there is this really amazing red hair vixen that you may well keep your eyes on :)

Ahh... suspense is such a wonderful thing.

What makes a memory?

Is it the taste?
Is it the scenery?
May hap it be the people along the way,
The sun rides high on the crimson sky,
No twilight do I see

The corpses of
long sadnesses seem past.
The new dawn awakes,
the mountain of sudden ecstasy laughs.
No cloud do I see

The cloudy burst
along the mountain's almond crust,
cannot stem the joy
of the climb and the exuberance.
No shadows can i hear

Random joys seem to be the best,
no sorrows can they contain.
The only thought of spring and sun,
can make winds sing again
Simply joy!

Movie Review: How to Train Your Dragon

Do you remember your mother or grandmother telling you the most amazing stories when you were young? Do you remember feeling the utter rapture that you are encompassed with when you hear those magical tales being spun? Those tales are about princesses/heros or even normal little girls/ boys like you and me who do such amazing and extraordinary things. It makes you feel quite special because at the end of it what you are left with is excellent story telling... not forgetting the plot too of course.

This movie stars Hiccup, the teenage viking un-extrodinaire who cant seem to get him self out of trouble ( I believe "fearless" would have been a better name for him as he does not seem to get the concept of quitting early and start running).
Anyways, back to Hiccup who will also be the narrator, he stays in an old village with new houses.
Oh my! How strange is that? This movie got my attention right away....

Some villages have floods, some have famine, and others have an excess of dragons running over their country side (Ah! Hence the new houses)...

Poor dear Hiccup is more of our oddball stereotypical brain versus the brawn of the stereotypical Viking men. Enter stunning teenage Viking girl and the unexpected training of a dragon. And you think that can make out the rest of the plot. But believe me... you would not have got it all.. you would have only just got the end!!

This movie has funny and riveting dialog and very interesting dragon action going on.

This is what the movies should be about! Rediscovering the art and magic of story telling.

I watched it in 3D... it totally rocks!

Movie Review: Avatar

Awesome! Unbelievable! Mind blowing! Spectacular!

I am not even going to wait for the end of this post to say all this, cause after seeing this masterpiece of visual effects last night, I can barely keep myself from jumping up-and-down my seat as I am typing this.

I am not a really big movie person, and usually prefer watching a movie at the most one time at home. And if the movie is special enough for me to play it again, I usually move straight to the interesting snippets. But I am ready to go back to the theater today and watch the movie all over again.

Plot:

Typical. Nothing earth-shattering here with the exception of the twist that human beings are not always the good guys. It has a sweet and light romance too; smart Na’vi girl who initially thinks she is stuck with a moron of a humanoid guy-in-a-Na’vi body, but you can guess what spending time with a moron does to the femme fatal in the movies

The earthlings are in some fancy space ship and around a planet named Pandora in 2154. Its commerce that drives them there. They seek to mine a very valuable rock-thing called unobtamium. Of course the natives, who are gentle nature-loving beings, will have nothing to do with it. Armed with just bows and poisonous arrows, can they beat the guns and awesome weaponry of the sky walkers (that’s us earthlings)?

Visual Effects:

This is where I would have given them a standing ovation all through the night and morning too (if I lasted that long). Spell binding is the word. At the end of the first half, I was already so excited by what I saw (though the story had not picked up too much pace till then) that I was already making plans to watch it again… in 3D of course (Did I mention, this was my very first 3D movie.. and what an amazing experience it turned out to be).

James Cameron.. you are amazing dude! The movies beauty comes not from the excessive ornateness on screen, or the visual lightning and sound effects, but simply because its truly out-of-this-world. The visuals will leave you gasping and fill in your senses inside out. They totally rocked mine. I can’t remember being so excited after seeing a movie for… well… I have no idea since when. The music scores are worth a hear too.

Technology:

The ideas of the future look utterly amazing. One really cool thing was this; imagine u are checking out something on your PC screen.. and you want to keep checking for updates or something while you are walking elsewhere. What do you do?? Wellll….. you use your finger tips to drag the image from the PC screen, and drop it on your hand-held tablet, and keep checking it out as you are walking about. How awesome is that!!!! And I loved it cause its so very possible.
